Liam Finney

Partner

Liam Finney was born and raised in Sackville, NB. Graduating an Ontario Scholar from Simcoe Composite School in Southern Ontario, he spent the next four years studying Political Science at Queen’s University, in Kingston, ON. Repatriating to Atlantic Canada the following year, he formalized his interest in the trade through the Heritage Carpentry program at NSCC, Lunenburg Campus, working for a local contractor through school and taking private jobs evenings and weekends. His skills and experience took him to Halifax, NS, where he worked for and pursued his apprenticeship with a high-end renovation company in the South end of Halifax. He, along with his wife and two dogs - Hank and Merle - have found their home in West LaHave, NS.

Michael Mandale

Partner

Michael Mandale was born in Chester, NS, and spent most of his youth in Sackville, NB. He has years of experience in the industry, performing his duties as a lead carpenter for a renovation outfit, running a house framing crew in Toronto and as sole owner and operator of Mandale Carpentry, based out of his hometown of Sackville, NB. Seasonally, he worked for a silvicultural operation, as closely as New Brunswick, and in more remote locations from Northern Ontario to the West Coast. He and his partner have made Lunenburg County their home, living with their border collie, Pearl, in Pinehurst, NS.

NOW HIRING CARPENTERS AND LEAD CARPENTER

Tilia Builders is seeking skilled carpenters to join our team. Our new team members, like the rest of us, must be hard working, self-directed when needed, punctual, respectful, polite with clients, have their own transportation with valid driver’s license, and have a current understanding of modern building practices. Applicants must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, under dusty conditions, often at heights and through adverse weather conditions. Only a well-equipped pouch, as well as a drill and impact driver set are needed.

Suitable carpenters will have a functional knowledge of all aspects of construction, including small scale concrete work, framing, building envelopes, window and door installation, siding, roofing, drywall, flooring, basic cabinetry and trim, with 2 to 5 years of experience.

We are also seeking an experienced Foreperson to lead a team of carpenters.

Suitable forepersons will have advanced knowledge of all aspects of construction, including small scale concrete work, framing, building envelopes, window and door installation, siding, roofing, drywall, flooring, basic cabinetry and trim, with at least 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have Red Seal certification. Applicants will be subject to a criminal record check.
